I lifted the book up and she had finally given up. I guess Elmo books aren't as exciting as Elmo videos.

Kaylee usually falls asleep for her nap on the couch with no problems. The other day, she was way past her nap time so I told her to lay in her bed and go to sleep. After having to remind her several times to get back in bed and go to sleep, I finally handed her a book and told her to read it and go to sleep. I finished doing the dishes and checked on her again because she was really quiet. This is what I found:

I lifted the book up and she had finally given up. I guess Elmo books aren't as exciting as Elmo videos.

THERE'S A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
A FIRST TIME FOR PONYTAILS (AT 22 MONTHS???):

This is after a day of ponytails:

Yes, we are finally able to put Brooke's hair in ponytails...kinda...they are wimpy ponytails, but hey, it's a start.
A FIRST TIME TO FALL ASLEEP SOMEWHERE BESIDES HER BED:
Unlike her big sister, Brooke doesn't fall asleep anywhere besides her bed or the car. A few days ago, while eating a "peebu shoo shoo" (peanut butter sandwich), she put her head down on the chair and went to sleep. Quite a surprise! She kept drooling peanut butter because she still had a bite in her mouth. Yuck!!

MONTHLY UPDATE???
Well, it looks like I have started a pattern of only updating the blog once a month. Better than nothing, but I will try to break the habit. With a new baby coming soon, I am not promising anything!

I have lots of new pictures. I will start with our "Princess Morning" pics. Kaylee saw her princess clothes that she got for Christmas (yes, this is April) and decided that she wanted to be a princess this morning. So, we got decked out and then Brooke decided she needed to be a princess with Kaylee.

DOES IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS....
Snack time with entertainment???? What a hostess! She set up the table and her piano for "snack time." In case you can't understand her song, she says: "snack snack party, it's a snack party, yeah!"

HAT TIME!!!!
In case you couldn't tell, the girls found the hat basket and had fun trying on all the hats. Kaylee looks a little sad in some pictures because she is sick. Brooke was getting really upset that she couldn't get the hats on exactly how she wanted.
Brooke proceeded to throw all of the hats out of the basket and jump in. Here is the result (which she watched later and thought was so funny she needed to reenact it):

CATCH UP, AGAIN!!!
Sorry, I have been so inconsistent with the whole blog thing. Things have been crazy! Tim and I got to go to a college conference in Dallas last weekend! It was a blast! Then, Wednesday night Brooke had a low fever when we got home. So, we were off to the doctor Thursday morning and got good news that she didn't have the flu. He gave us some antibiotics and sent us home, but that night, she got a really high fever. We went back to the doctor Friday morning and did another flu test that came back negative again. But, she did have a mild ear infection so he gave her a shot of antibiotics. I was really hoping that her fever would go away, but she had a 101 temperature again this morning. That is our week so far, but I do have some fun pictures to share.

Brooke is finally getting a little more hair so I tried to put a bow in it a few days ago. She was ticked at first, but she actually wore it all day. It looked hilarious because the bow is so small on her big head.
If you have been around my kids some, you may know that for some reason the word "yes" is not in their vocabulary. They just kinda laugh in place of the word. Well, Brooke now just says "kay." It is really funny to me because she says it in a really low voice and seems so serious.
Kaylee has been so sweet to Brooke. When Brooke had a really high fever, she fell asleep on the couch. Kaylee started rubbing her back and singing "Jesus loves me". She said "Yes, Jesus loves Brookey...". It was so sweet!!! I wish I would have gotten it on video.
